Stroke recognition (FAST)

  1. F — FaceAsk to smile. Does one side of the face droop? Yes → possible stroke.
  2. A — ArmsAsk to raise both arms. Does one arm drift down or feel numb? Yes → possible stroke.
  3. S — SpeechAsk to repeat a simple sentence. Is speech slurred, strange, or confused? Yes → possible stroke.
  4. T — Time: call 112!At one positive FAST sign: call 112 IMMEDIATELY. Note exact time of first symptoms.
  5. While waitingPlace on side if unconscious, ensure calm. Nothing to eat/drink — swallowing problems possible.
